Enjoyed the site. In the mid 60s (bout 66 or 67)., my family went with the travel trailer club to Vasquez Rock. I was in high school & still clearly remember climbing around on the rock. Playing around the front that sat near by (some fort as I recall). What a neat place. The adults had brought a generator so they could catch a game of the baseball seriesthat fall. It was a special weekend & I treasure the memories alot. Regards, Marylou

WOW, what a neat website!! Now I can come home for a visit to Newhall as I remember it in the 40's 50's and 60's. Growing up in Newhall was the best! The 4th of July was my favorite. As a kid, I got up early on the 4th to put on my cowboy outfit, and then walk outside to see the cowboys saddling up their horses for the parade. Now these weren't just any ol cowboys - we're talking Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and The Lone Ranger, etc. They were all there!! I live in Georgia now, but my heart belongs to my hometown of Newhall. I see it like this! Never ask anyone if they were born and raised in Newhall- if they were- thay'll tell you so- and if they weren't- why embarrass them?

I found this sight while reading about someone's ghostly experience at the dam site in Santa Clarita Valley, on the Shadowlands Ghosts and Hauntings website. They mentioned this site and how good it was and I just had to check it out, and they were right!! I was born and raised in California and will make sure to visit Santa Clarita Valley when I go home for a visit in the future. By the way I was born in Ventura in 1961 as was my father in 1929, so I am sure, my grandparents, now deceased who lived in Ventura at the time saw the mess that the still fifteen foot wall of water left behind when it finally hit the Pacific Ocean. Thanks for a great and informative website. Keep up the good work.!!

Love the pics of Tumble Inn! I became fascinated with the Tumble Inn in 1974, when I first discovered the inscription on the step. I began giving tours of The Ridge Route, and it became an eagerly awaited annual event that endured throughout the 1970's. Has anyone ever discovered a connection to the Tumble Inn Grocery store in Saugus? Larry Blodget, Founder, Fabulous Fifties Ford Club of America.
